We are looking for an
Technical Specialist (Full time; 40 hours per week)
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join ABS Biotechnologies GmbH.
Our mission is to use next-generation stem cell technology for rigorous screening of new drug compounds, this prevents exposing patients to harmful side effects
This position is primarily laboratory based.
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in a life science field
Has practical experience in a laboratory working with human cell culture and molecular biology
Is reliable, proactive, and capable of supporting team operations in a laboratory environment
Desires to learn new technical skills
Is team-oriented (proactively builds healthy working relationships between peers)
Possesses excellent communication, organizational and time-management skills
Has excellent command of written and spoken English; German language skills are advantageous
Is willing to take part on the weekend /public holiday rotas
Is willing to undertake other duties as appropriate and as required
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with stem cell culture is highly desirable
Driving licence B and own car to get to work are an advantage
Your Role
Perform cell culture (media change, passaging, harvesting, thawing, cryopreservation of cell cultures, iPSC culture and differentiation)
Assisting with lab operations such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining records
Help create and update SOPs and training manuals
Conduct quality control on iPSCs, differentiated cells, media, reagents, equipment, and various test kits
Adhere to quality standards; learn and comply with regulatory requirements
Provide administrative support for the laboratory
Supporting various scientific projects by ensuring smooth laboratory operations, including sample management
Participate in technical staff training as needed
Maintain general order, cleanliness, and sterile work in biosafety cabinets, strict adherence to occupational safety regulations

The minimum annual remuneration for this position is € 38.000,- (according to collective agreement, based on a fulltime employment, 40h/w, possible overpayment depending on qualification and experience). We aim to fill this position as soon as possible.
